What the program is

Plum lets you text with your own personal AI assistant on one shared Plum phone number. When you enable texting, you'll exchange recurring conversational messages with your assistant, and receive the reminders, briefings, and notifications you've asked it for. Only the account holder's own registered mobile number can start a conversation. Account holders may also add the Plum number to a group text they create (US numbers, up to 10 participants) - other people in that group receive the assistant's messages only as part of that group thread, and the assistant only participates in groups the account holder added it to.

How opt-in works

Texting is off by default. Account holders enable it themselves from their agent dashboard at agent-plum.com by entering their own mobile number and giving express consent via an unchecked-by-default checkbox presented with the following language:

The first message is always sent by the user, not by Plum - your assistant only ever texts you back or sends the reminders you configured.

Message and data rates may apply, per your mobile carrier's plan.
Opt out any time by replying STOP (or OPTOUT, CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE, STOPALL) in your direct thread with the Plum number. You'll receive a single confirmation message and nothing further - opting out stops all program messages account-wide, including in any group threads. Resubscribe any time by replying START (or HELLO, YES, UNSTOP).
